WISER (Ongoing)
WISER is an interdisciplinary project that brings together environmental scientists, computer scienctists, and experts in business innovation to make trustworthy and consistent greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions accounting accessible to companies of all sizes. It uses semantic technologies—such as Knowledge Graphs—to create an interoperability layer across data silos and encode expert knowledge in a machine-readable, machine-understandable form. This enables the automation of several costly, manual steps in current GHG accounting practices. WISER is funded by Innosuisse, the Swiss innovation agency. Visit the WISER website.
Smart Management of Smart Grids (Finished)
As electric distribution systems integrate more renewable energy, enhanced automation is needed to ensure reliability and responsiveness. During my time at Siemens, using semantic technologies, we developed a system for managing secondary electrical substations, offering real-time monitoring, automated control, and dynamic software deployment. We developed innovative dashboards to empower grid operators with intuitive visualization and proactive tools to detect, diagnose, and resolve grid issues efficiently. This project was supported by the California Energy Commission. The report can be found here.
